Stephanie Anne in retrospect

I haven’t had money to shoot much since October. It was a conscious choice for me to make attending FestX a priority. The orchard shot that I posted way back when was my goal for the session, but I have to say in revisiting the magical 2 hours Stephanie Anne and I worked at Casa Dracula, I’m still finding amazing things … now that I have some distance from the overload.

I’ve been more active on Flickr than here and I decided to add two images from my postings this week.

Thanks again Stephanie Anne. And thanks again Zoe.

For me, the satisfaction grows exponentially as I work with images I’ve shot. With the fest many weeks behind me I get excited all over again discovering possibilities in my photoshop sandbox. Here are a few that spoke to me that have been substantially tweaked in one way or another.

Turtle event again

Sorry for the repost… the images were tiny and hopefully I’ve fixed that.

Going back through the posts there are quite a few lovely shots of the turtle release. I’m adding some snapshots from my iphone mostly to give some context and to revisit the many friendly faces that made FestX a source of so many happy memories…

Anoush in the “Ginger Room”

I was thrilled with Casa Bentley. The grounds, the kitchen area where so many great conversations hatched, the proprietor Robert Bentley and his manager Beatrice…. My room was typical of the eclectic finesse that Beatrice had dressed all the guest rooms with in terms of color, knicknacks and art pieces. I loved it and knew I had to shoot there just to see what would happen with low light. This was my second shoot with Anoush and, once again, I was in awe of her contribution. The first shot that I’ve uploaded is one of those “call me crazy, but…” shots where I’d swear Anoush looks like Mona Lisa lit this way. The other, is oozing glamor to me. Thanks Anoush.

Megan at Casa Bentley

Anoush introduced me to Megan at Casa Dracula. I knew right away I wanted to shoot with her even though it was never in my plans. I’m still just beginning to look at my images and I can’t say I have the distance to be properly critical. What I liked most about shooting with Megan was there’s a vulnerability…maybe even sadness… that I can’t put into words but I also find it graceful and lovely. Thanks Megan.
